Samurai Speeds R35 GT-R is the quickest GT-R in the World setting a 10.55@128 mph and 10.53@128 mph pass with over 100 LC launches. In this video, the transmission lets go. They seem to have found the limit.
* Believe it or not, I'm not all that upset about it. We knew we were going to have to upgrade it eventually, so now it will just happen sooner rather than later.
Now they have the chance to upgrade the transmission

i really appreciate the ignorance you have proved yourself to be.
SamuraiSam, is there really anything you can upgrade on the tranny, or are you going to get a new GR6?
Im told the tranny was a joint project by Nissan and VW and that since its so new and complex, the aftermarket won't touch it
Do a search for GR6 on here. There are a few companies working on gear upgrades.
Sam isn't the one in the video. Just uses a similar name.
The transmission is a joint venture between Borg Warner and Nissan.
LOL- yeah I'm not involved with Samurai Speed at all. Just an internet nickname.
The only places/companies I've heard of doing GT-R transmission upgrades are Shephard Racing of dsm fame (forum hearsay, that's where the first broken Russian GR6 headed) and Pfizer (this blog)
I had heard the first Russian transmission was going to Harman Motive. Or went. Something like that. It still might have ended up with John Shepard. If I needed someone to make a strong gearbox. He would be a good guy to send it to.
While Nissan designed the feature to be used only when stuck they should have had the foresight to know that it would be used for 0-60 and 1/4 mile performance runs as well as circuit racing in which the car is designed.
I know our NICOclub R35 owners are paying close attention to possible solutions to this expensive issue.
