The Nissan GT-R first officially sold in the US in 2008 as a 2009 model even though the Nissan Skyline, and Nissan Skyline GT-R has a long history, and racing history in Japan and worldwide. From the PGC-10 to the R34, the GT-R are iconic cars. The first GT-R appeared in 1969 with the PGC-10 and in 1970
KPGC-10 coupe . The

In September 1972, the KPGC110, or Kenmeri GT-R was put on sale in Japan. This would not last for long though. The oil crisis meant that there were only 197 KPGC10 GT-R's sold in Japan from 9-72 though 3-73. This was the last GT-R until the modern
R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R. These photos show a couple of examples of classic Nissan Skylines here in the US. Most of them are just normal Nissan Skylines with GT-R parts and badgin, however there are some real cars. Real or not, it takes some dedication to have one in the US.
