Switzer Signature Wheels for Nissan GT-R : 20 x 10 and 20 x 12

Switzer Performance from beautiful Oberlin, Ohio,  is well known for tuning the Nissan GT-R to its fullest with their performance packages. From basic parts, to the popular P800 and R1K. They have just released some information on new Signature wheels in a 20 x 10 and 20 x 12 inch size.

Switzer Performance has been building thousand-horsepower street beasts for years now, setting and re-setting the bar for power, reliability, and build-quality. “It’s the quality of our components,” explains Tym Switzer, “the ‘OEM-plus’ level of build quality and material quality that’s enabled us to nearly double an engine’s factory horsepower without compromising reliability.” Anyone who’s ever seen one of the exhausts or turbo manifolds roll out of Switzer Performance’s garage doors knows the company takes the notion of parts and materials quality to heart … and, now, that same dedication to quality has been applied to a new Switzer product: Switzer Signature wheels.

Switzer’s new wheels are machined from a single piece of 6061-T6 forged aluminum, which allows for maximum strength and minimum weight. “Removing weight is critical, especially unsprung weight. The same car, with these wheels instead of the factory wheels, will brake shorter, turn sharper, and accelerate out of corners harder. Removing unsprung weight is really the ‘magic bullet’ when it comes to improved handling.”

The Switzer Signature Wheels feature matching machined centercaps and the Switzer logo embossed into the rim – features that Switzer says will add to the cars’ future collectability. “They’re pretty exclusive items,” says Tym, “these wheels are going on P800s and Ultimate Street Edition GTRs, for the most part. These are cars that are built to last, and we hope that we see Switzer cars at car meets in twenty years getting the same kind of recognition that Shelby cars and early AMG models are getting now. That’s the dream. Little touches like that will help to separate the ‘authentic’ Switzer cars if and when that comes to pass. We’ll see.”
