Launch control in a Nissan GT-R is a pretty
controversial topic. I have written a lot about it in the blog, but as you can see in this video, people seem to enjoy it. Perhaps why it got pretty well abused when the GT-R was first released, and broke a few
GR6 transmissions. LC1 was a violent, non advertised feature in the 2009 Nissan GT-R. 4500 rpms, with a harsh clutch release(just about a drop). The 2013 Nissan GT-R has what the community calls LC5. LC5 is officially called
R mode start. 4000 rpms with a smooth clutch engagement. It allows for very rapid 0-60 times often dipping well into the 2 second range.
The guys from
TotheFloor.com put together this great video. Give it a watch, its worth your 2:44.
