The
Times Live from South Africa had a chance to take a 2013 MY(2014 US) Nissan GT-R out for a couple laps at Kyalami Racetrack. Their car seems just like the
Track Edition the US will see. Only 150 cars for the US, starting in May 2013. Although the car they drove looks like it has the SpecV exhaust tips on it. Word was that the
SpecV/Clubsport/Nismo $10,000 titanium exhaust would be an option on the US car.
Now if this, like me, fails to see your pulse quickening then the range-topping Track Pack Edition certainly will. Making its South African debut, this kick-ass package bolts on a lightweight titanium exhaust silencer; 20-inch RAYS forged wheels; Recaro bucket front seats (the plus-twos in the rear have been deleted to shed weight) plus a carbon fibre boot spoiler. There’s also a carbon fibre front splitter fitted with more efficient brake cooling ducts. But the standout feature is something you can’t actually see – a track-focused suspension system developed in partnership between Nissan, Bilstein and the NordRing Corporation.
